Chinese artist, architect and curator Ai Weiwei is a significant voice of Chinese opposition, for years actively criticizing the authorities in China and human rights activists. Co-founder of conceptual installations, including the famous exhibition Sunflower Seeds at Tate Modern, as well as the National Stadium in Beijing, was involved in the disclosure of a number of abuses in the construction of schools that collapsed during the earthquake in Sichuan province in 2008. In April 2011 he was arrested by the Chinese authorities, followed by 81 days held incommunicado and interrogated the alleged economic crime, tax evasion, destroying accounting documents, as well as bigamy and spread of pornography on the Internet.

The release of the artist who offended the communist leaders, calling them gangsters, were the governments of the United States, Germany and Great Britain. After the alleged confession was in June 2011, released from prison on bail, on the condition that it will not commented publicly and will not leave Beijing.
The film shows how Ai Weiwei lives after leaving prison, and how nervous the game is continuing with the Chinese authorities, who are watching his every move just to bring him further charges. We see both his private life under house arrest with his wife and son, about the fate of which is concerned more and more, as well as earnest attempt to re-enter the role of a committed activist. This is not an easy task, because after leaving prison Ai Weiwei not only suffers from insomnia and memory loss, and the police tracking his every move, but it must also find between family life and the constant attention of the media and the art world. However, retains stoic calm, and the only way to relieve emotions and frustrations may prove to be another installation that Ai Weiwei plans to show abroad.
